The title for this article comes from a tag line used by a former close friend. It is an incomplete tagline for it should read:
"The truth never lies, the key is knowing where to look."
In order to find this truth, it is necessary to go back, to a distant time and a distant place. A place to where a single event, insignificant then, would be come quite significant today. An event that would have an effect on those who were total strangers back then who are now both friends and enemies today.

The Butterfly Effect is more than just the title of a quirky movie dealing with time travel. It is a commonly debated scenario in the area of chaos theory and Quantum Physics. The core meaning of the term is that a single event can change the course of overall events in ways that would not have occurred had that event had not taken place. A butterfly effect is, in essence, a turning point.
